SENIOR LADIES championship
MULLABRACK V CULLOVILLE
Mullabrack senior ladies secured a junior
quarter final place when they defeated Culloville at home on
Saturday 19/6/10.
Mullabrack controlled the match from the start
with Shauna Gallogly opening the scoring with a point. Aoife Lennon
tormented the Culloville defence scoring four first half goals.
Martina Hearty also found the net and with further points form Aoife
Lennon, Emma Fields and Martina Hearty Mullabrack held a 5:10 to 1:1
half-time lead.
Gemma Rice and Leanne Murray continued to
dominate the mid-field area and further goals came from Toni Morgan,
Aoife Lennon, Emma Fields and Shauna Gallogly. Rachael McGeown and
Christina Crilly added points. The Mullabrack defence stood firm
with Frances Boyce, Faye Rice and Ciara Gallogly protecting goal
keeper Josie McSorley. Half-backs Helen Corvan, Kathryn Rice and
Emma Fields seldom allowed their opponents a meaningful attack and
this was reflected on the scoreboard. Final score 9:19 to 2:1. The
girls meet Granemore in the quarter finals.

Meanwhile the young players of Mullabrack
helped Ballyhagan to their first league win on 16/6/10 when they
defeated St Endas. Maggie Rice and Orla Fields playing in defence
made several fine clearances with Maria Gallogly working tirelessly
in the mid-field area. Eimear Rice linked well in the forwards and
Ursula McGeown scored a number of points and was unlucky for a goal.
