The Mullabrack Senior ladies
Mullabrack v St Peters
After suffering two consecutive defeats in the league and
championship the Mullabrack senior ladies returned to winning form
when they defeated St Peters in Lurgan on Monday evening29/6/09 in a
very competitive encounter.
St
Peters were first to score but it was to be their only score of the
opening half thanks to the excellent work rate of the Mullabrack
defence. Shauna Gallogly opened Mullabracks account with a free
follwed by a goal and point. The same player was fouled in the
square and Martina Hearty made no mistake in converting the
resultant penalty to take a 2:3 to 0:1 half-time lead.
The
second half saw a more determined St Peters side scoring a goal and
point in the opening minutes of the second half. Points from
Frances Boyce, Emma Fields and Martina Hearty maintained the lead.
The final ten minutes saw the Mullabrack defence under severe
pressure with the home side narrowing the lead to two points. Ciara
Galloglys final point ensured victory for the Mullabrack girls.
Every girl can be proud of the way they played and they thoroughly
deserved these two league points securing a first victory at this
venue. Final Score 2:7 to 1:8.
