Lisbrack played their first match of the season when they hosted
new team Clonmore on 8/5/08.
Lisbrack proved too strong for their inexperienced opponents
securing a 2:6 to 1:0 lead at half-time, the goals coming from Niam
Sutton and Toni Morgan. Rachael McGeown(2), Emma Fields, Linda Carr
and Toni scored the points.
Lisbrack continued to dominate possession after the interval with
Shauna Rafferty(2), Niamh Sutton and Kathrine Rice bagging goals.
The midfield pairing of Linda Carr and Kathrine Rice each added two
points. Toni Morgan, Rachael Mc Geown, Leanne Murray and Shauna
Rafferty extended the lead with points a piece.
The Lisbrack defence of Saoirse Farrell in nets, Ciara Gallogly,
Faye Rice and Grainne Lee dealt well with any scoring threat and
only conceded a goal and apoint in the second-half. The half back
line of Helen Corvan, Aoife McConville and Dearbhla Rafferty were
very strong and caused their counterparts problem as they
continually attacked setting up many of the scores. Final score 6:14
to 2:1.
