Mullabrack senior ladies got the
Division 3 league campaign off to a winning start when they
defeated Phelim Bradys away on Saturday evening 5/4/08.
Playing against a strong breeze in
the first half Shauna Gallogly opened the scoring with a free
but the home side responded converting a free of their own.
Despite the conditions Mullabrack forwards got good supply of
the ball with Shauna Gallogly finding the Bradys net. However
the home side edged in front with a further goal and point.
Niamh Sutton won the ball for Mullabrack on the wing and sent
the ball across to Emma Fields who struck the ball to the back
of the net to see the visitors take a half-time lead of 2:1 to
1:2.
Mullabracks Niamh Sutton opened
the second half scoring with a goal. Despite the hard work of
the Mullabrack defence in particular Faye Rice and Ciara
Gallogly they conceded a second goal. The home side continued to
put pressure on the defence but Kathryn Rice and Aoife
McConville fought hard to clear the ball, with Leanne Murray and
Gemma Rice working well in midfield. Shauna Gallogly scored two
late points to put the game beyond Phelim Bradys. Final score3:3
to 2:2.
