Lisbrack
GFC v Tir na Og
The combined team of
Lissummon, Poyntzpass and Mullaghbrack, know as Lisbrack got of to a
winning start in the under 16 league when they defeated Tir na Og by
3:11 to 0:7 in Ballindarragh on Monday 7/5/07.
Aided by a strong
wind Tir na Og opened the scoring and registered four points before
Shauna Rafferty found the net for Lisbrack. Tir Na Og added a
further point with Racheal McGeown and Shauna Rafferty scoring
points a piece for Lisbrack to leave the half-time score level at
1:2 to 0:5.
Lisbrack
dominated play in the second half with Niamh Marley on a scoring
spree adding several points to Lisbracks tally. Tir na Og were only
able to add two points thanks to Lisbracks excellent defence lead by
captain Aoife McConville. The home side finished strong netting
twice.
This was a well
deserved victory in their first match and the girls can look forward
to more good team displays.
